Bitcoin Bharat Brings the Bitcoin India Tour to Surat
Surat is one of India's fastest growing cities. A diamond trading capital, a textile powerhouse, and now home to one of Gujarat's rising technology institutions. On March 25, 2026, Bitcoin Bharat added one more milestone to Surat's story: the city's first dedicated Bitcoin education session, held at IIIT Surat, with 120 students in the room.
The Session: IIIT Surat, March 25, 2026
The Bitcoin India Tour brought its Surat edition to IIIT Surat, one of Gujarat's premier technology institutions and a fitting venue for a conversation about the future of money and financial systems.
120 students registered and attended, making it one of the well attended stops on the Bitcoin India Tour. The session was sponsored by Fedi, a Bitcoin company building tools for community custody and financial sovereignty, whose support made the event completely free for every attendee.
The format followed Bitcoin Bharat's signature structure: an educational keynote, an interactive presentation, open discussion, and a Q&A session that gave every student the space to ask the questions they actually had about Bitcoin, money, and the financial system.
The Speaker: Mahak Kalra
The Surat session featured Mahak Kalra, an IIT Bombay graduate, Startup India supported founder, and Stanford Seed Spark alumna who has hosted over 30 offline education sessions across India. Her experience taking complex financial and technology concepts into student rooms made her the right voice for Bitcoin Bharat's Surat edition.
What the Session Meant for Surat
