Bitcoin Bharat Brings Bitcoin Education to IIT Guwahati

To encourage these conversations, Bitcoin Bharat, India's largest grassroots Bitcoin education movement, brought the Bitcoin India Tour to Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. Through interactive workshops and engaging discussions, students explored Bitcoin, financial sovereignty, decentralization, and why the world's first decentralized monetary network continues to attract developers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers around the globe.

The session at IIT Guwahati focused on helping students understand Bitcoin from first principles. Instead of beginning with market prices or speculation, speakers explored the ideas that make Bitcoin unique, including digital scarcity, open source development, cryptographic security, and decentralized consensus.

Students learned how Bitcoin transactions are verified, why Bitcoin mining plays a critical role in securing the network, and how thousands of independent nodes work together to maintain a transparent and resilient system. The workshop also introduced Bitcoin wallets, private keys, seed phrase security, and self custody, helping students understand the importance of securely managing digital assets.

One of the most engaging parts of the session explored Bitcoin as one of the world's largest open source software projects.
