Aditya Ranjan, Founder of Bitcoin Bharat invited to speak at Bitcoin Asia 2026, Hong Kong

Two sessions, one day, and the first panel of the whole event. At age of 21, Aditya took the story of India’s Bitcoin youth to Hong Kong, with one message for the global industry: build in India, and bring your products to India’s young people.

The first panel of Bitcoin Asia 2026, on the Nakamoto Stage: "India as an Untapped Bitcoin Juggernaut", with Santosh Vadivelu, Harish BV and Aditya Ranjan.

Two sessions. One day. The biggest stage in Hong Kong. And a 21-year-old from India with a message for the global Bitcoin industry.

Bitcoin Asia 2026 brought institutions, enterprises and builders to Hong Kong for two days, presented by Metaplanet. Among the speakers it invited was Aditya Ranjan, founder of Bitcoin Bharat, India’s largest grassroots Bitcoin education initiative.

He spoke twice on the same day. First came the panel India as an Untapped Bitcoin Juggernaut, on the Nakamoto Stage, the event’s biggest stage, where only a handful of speakers are invited. It was the first panel of the entire two-day event, and its subject was India. Then came the Rapid Fire Community Session, where he showed the room what Bitcoin Bharat has built.

India as an Untapped Bitcoin Juggernaut

The numbers framed the conversation. Santosh Vadivelu, founder of Student of Bitcoin, who took on the moderator’s role as well as his own, laid them out: 1.4 billion people, half of them under 30, and first in the Chainalysis crypto adoption index three years running.

Harish BV, co-founder of Unocoin, India’s first Bitcoin exchange, answered the question everyone abroad asks. His team took the 2018 banking restriction to the Supreme Court and won. Holding Bitcoin in India is legal, for individuals and for companies.

Aditya brought the view from the classroom.

“Whenever we go to people, the first questions are always the same. When will Bitcoin reach a million dollars? What is the price right now? Is this a good time to buy? That is understandable, because most students get their information from financial news and finfluencers on YouTube.

But spend an hour or two with us, and they start asking why the supply is capped at 21 million, what inflation is and how Bitcoin solves it, what self-custody means, and how mining secures the network. Their whole perspective changes within those two hours.”— ADITYA RANJAN

The method is simple: start with money itself, how it evolved and what is broken in today’s system, and only then show how Bitcoin answers it.

Gold, then digital gold

Santosh pointed out that Indian households own an estimated $3.8 trillion in gold, four times more than the United States. Aditya explained how students see the jump to Bitcoin. They inherit their financial habits from parents who believe in gold, but they are curious about the digital world around them. Bitcoin is something they can hold and use on their phone, and it is portable in a way gold never will be. Once they compare the two side by side, the idea of digital gold makes sense to them.

Talent, ready to build

Asked what it will take for that talent to make India a Bitcoin juggernaut, Aditya started with training. Many Indian students already contribute to Bitcoin open-source programs, and the country produces new engineering graduates every single day. What they need is proper guidance and companies willing to come to India, talk to them and build with them.

His advice for companies that want to hire: run hackathons and ideathons that are open to the whole country. Indian students love competition, and they don’t just want to beat their own campus. They want to compete with students across India, and that is where the best of them show up.

On what would open the floodgates, he pointed to India’s biggest business families:

“Once a group like the Ambanis or the Adanis starts talking about Bitcoin, adoption in this country will move much faster, because our parents’ generation trusts what those names say.”— ADITYA RANJAN

And when Santosh asked for the one message the hall should take home, Aditya made the invitation.

“India has a lot of young talent. Any company to experiment with any project. If you want to build something, build it in India, because this is the best time.”— ADITYA RANJAN

Bitcoin Bharat among other communities across the globe

Later, at the Rapid Fire Community Session, Aditya shared the stage with John Pratt (Bitcoin Sydney), Keypleb (Code Orange Dev School) and Kyle Huber (We Are Satoshi). He told the story of how Bitcoin Bharat began: one room, one projector, and a batch of students who thought Bitcoin was a way to get rich quick.

His case started with a gap. India is the world’s number one country for crypto adoption, three years running, and 119 million Indians already own crypto, the largest user base on earth. Almost all of them met it through a trading app, not through first principles. The audience already exists. The education does not.

Bitcoin Bharat was built to close that gap, on three lines: learn before you invest, education before adoption, community before scale. It is non-commercial, education-first and community-driven. Its flagship, the Bitcoin India Tour, takes free, first-principles Bitcoin education to the places where India actually learns: college campuses, local communities, and the tier-2 and tier-3 cities the metros forget. No trading signals, no price predictions.

Twelve active months later, this is what the tour looked like:

100+WORKSHOPS
60+CITIES
16.5KFOOTFALL
40+CAMPUSES

The tour has run at IIT Bombay, IIT Madras and IIT Delhi, and at state universities in tier-2 and tier-3 cities that few others visit, from Kashmir to Tamil Nadu and from Gujarat to the Northeast. When the full list of events filled the screen, the room went quiet.

More than 40 campuses have opened their doors to the tour, from IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Guwahati to NIT Trichy, NIT Srinagar, MNIT Jaipur, SVNIT Surat, Symbiosis Pune, Christ University and Chandigarh University.

Every session follows the same plan: money as technology, what makes money sound, and a wallet set up in the room. No price charts, no trading. Anyone who wants a wallet walks out with one, and it costs nothing. The same curriculum now runs inside companies as Bitcoin White.

It is a model built to scale: repeatable, free to youth, grassroots and practical, with real classrooms and real conversations instead of online hype.

Build in India. Showcase in India.

Aditya’s invitation went further than building. India is the world’s biggest crypto market, with an estimated 119 million users, and most of them live on a handheld smartphone. Cheap phones and cheap data have put technology in everyone’s pocket, and almost everyone already pays with UPI. What is missing, as he told the panel, is awareness: most people don’t yet know they can use Bitcoin too. At the centre of that gap is a young generation that is curious about new Bitcoin products and eager to try them.

Those young people are the audience of the Bitcoin India Tour.

THE INVITATION

Bring your product to India. Bitcoin Bharat will put your wallet, your exchange or your hardware in front of young minds.

That is the partnership model. Organisations that believe in open Bitcoin education back the tour, which keeps it free for students. In return, Bitcoin Bharat puts their products in front of thousands of young Indians learning to use Bitcoin the right way.
